| COMMUNITY BASED OUTREACH ACTIVITIES |
CMDHD offers presentations and activity workshops to individuals, groups, agencies, schools and
colleges on a variety of health related topics based on request. Each presentation is facilitated
by a Health Educator with experience and/or knowledge about the requested topic. Typical presentations
are 30 minutes to one hour depending on the needs of the agency hosting the speaking engagement
(presentations may also be scheduled on site at the branch office).
Presentations in the past have covered such topics as:
- Abstinence
- AIDS/HIV
- Birth Control
- Breast Cancer
- Cancer
- Cardiovascular Disease
- Exercise
- Hygiene
- Nutrition
- Sexuality / Sex Education
- Teen Parenting
- Tobacco Prevention & Cessation
To schedule a presentation or inquire about the presentation program, contact the appropriate
Health Educator.
Health Educators also set up informational displays at a variety of health fairs and community
events throughout the district each year. General information about CMDHD's services, as well
as specific information on a variety of health topics is provided to the public at the booths.
CMDHD provided educational information through community health fairs to over 2,600 local residents in 2006.
