Family Planning
The Michigan Family Planning Program makes available general reproductive health assessment, comprehensive contraceptive services, related health education and counseling, and referrals as needed to every citizen of the state. The program's strong educational and counseling component helps to reduce health risks and promote healthy behaviors.

While services are available to anyone, the primary target population is low-income women and men. Individuals with income levels at or below poverty can receive the full array of program services at no cost. No one is denied services because of inability to pay. The comprehensive family planning services charged on a sliding fee scale to any resident in our area. Services offered at the Central Michigan District Health Department include a general health assessment and physical exam, screening, laboratory tests, contraception consultation, pregnancy detection, client and community health education, and follow-up and referral for problems for both females and males.

Services for our clients will be provided without regard to religion, race, color, national origin, creed, handicap, sex, number of pregnancies, marital status, age, sexual orientation or birth control preferences in a manner that protects the dignity of each individual.

Individuals seeking services from our agency will NOT be subjected to coercion to receive these services in regards to using any particular method of family planning or birth control.
