Cardiovascular Disease Program

The Cardiovascular Disease program (CVD) is funded through the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe.  This program allows health education personnel to educate and screen the Isabella County community.

Health Education personnel are able to attend health fairs and give presentations to address issues regarding heart disease, high blood pressure, nutrition, and much more.

CMDHD Health Educators also conduct periodic wellness screenings for the community to assess total and HDL cholesterol levels, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and glucose testing.  Participants are given their results as well as individualized education and referrals to local resources. Follow-up is also done with those participants who were found to be at a particularly high risk.
